Overview
This is our core course for HLA developers who wants to understand both the open, international IEEE 1516 standard as well as the older HLA 1.3 standard. It provides some introduction and then focuses on object modelling and practical HLA development. Length 3 days. Schedule The complete schedule for the course is available for download here. Participants Developers with some experience from object-oriented development in C++, Java or similar.
Description The first day concentrates on HLA introduction, requirements, standardization architecture and basic principles. A "first try" lab is included. We cover the FEDEP development process for developing HLA compliant simulation. We also do an extensive walkthrough of the Object Model Templats and how to create common objects models for federations. We do practical work and create object models using tools such as Visual OMT.
The second day focuses on creating HLA programs, that is: federates. We go through the overall structure of a program. We then cover each RTI Manager that you need to use, one by one. For each manager you extend you own program. You get to run your simulation stand-alone on your own computer as well as together with the other participants in the classroom network.
The third day continues with more advanced managers: distributing data and synchronizing time and events across the network. We also cover some debugging and optimizing areas. We also have labs with mixing Java and C++.
Course Material The course includes course material (binders) in English for all students.
Pricing and availability The course is Euro 1500 per participant or SEK 14 000 for Swedish participants. This course is also available as in-house training. Next occasion: Contact us Registration form
