Tips and Procedures

Developing for HLA 1.3 while preparing for HLA 1516. If you still need to support the older HLA 1.3 standard but plan to migrate to HLA 1516 you can should consider upgrading to Pitch Visual OMT 1516. You can then develop the object model in the HLA 1516. When you need to use your FOM together with an HLA 1.3 RTI you can simply save a FED file for HLA 1.3.Sharing an object model within a project with many participants

Use the "Save as HTML" wizard. Then put the HTML file on a web server or file server that participants can access. The HTML document will be fully interlinked so that you can go directly to a definition with a click.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why does Visual OMT use a special file format for saving?
A: The HLA 1.3 standard specified two types of formats for saving an object model:: HLA OMT DIF 1.3 and HLA FED DIF 1.3. Since none of them contains all of the OMT information the Visual OMT format is used to save all data in a file. Still you can always save into the other formats whenever needed.
