In June 2008, the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration (FMV) and partners in the Persistent Partner Simulation Network (P2SN) demonstrated a Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) simulation at the 2008 Information Technology in Education Conference (ITEC08) in Stockholm, Sweden.
As the main federation development contractor, Pitch provided both services and tools to make the integration and demonstration a success. A total of 18 systems from 10 different organizations were integrated using the latest standards in distributed simulation. The Pitch pRTI™ 1516 was used to integrate all systems into a distributed federation based on HLA IEEE 1516.

To reduce cost and risks, Pitch also provided all participants with the Pitch Recorder™ software allowing an extensive amount of pre-integration testing to be conducted by the participating organizations before two scheduled integration events.

The final ITEC08 P2SN Federation was demonstrated with real warfighters as operators conducting joint multinational and interservice training from four (4) different sites/booths on the show floor. Live systems operated by the Swedish Police played together with virtual platform simulators and constructive simulations to represent the integrated scenario. All simulated entities were displayed in Google Earth Pro using the Pitch GE Adapter™ software. |
