Pitch pRTI and Booster products were selected by Astrium GmbH to update the distributed simulation system for the ATV (Automated Transfer Vehicle) spacecraft developed by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European space industry led by Astrium GmbH. The HLA-based system will be deployed between the Astrium GmbH facilities in Bremen (Germany), ATV Control Centre in Toulouse (ATV-CC, France) and Mission Control Centre in Korolev near Moscow (MCC-M, Russia). It is purposed to facilitate training of the ground controller teams at both centres starting from May 2010. ATV spacecraft is providing logistics and orbit control to the International Space Station (ISS) and is a key ESA contribution to the ISS programme. The first ATV performed its flawless space mission in 2009, while the second spacecraft is currently scheduled for launch at the end of 2010.
